2016 – Week 3 – Eid Gifts and Vouchers for Syrian families (local)
“Wish for your brother what you wish for yourself” Prophet Muhammad pbuh
‘As-Sadaqah’ week 3 money was given towards buying gift card vouchers and toys for Syrian families living in the Bradford area. A total of £2800 was raised alhamdulillah. £1800 went towards the vouchers, 30 families each receiving £60 worth of primark gift card vouchers. Each family also received a toy bag for the children worth just over £30 each. Each family received a scooter or ride on and toys that were age appropriate and suited to them.
The families arrived early this afternoon to receive their eid gifts from As-Sadaqah. We met them at the mosque just off Otley Road BD3 (Prospect road). The families were very happy and appreciative giving duas to all those who contributed for them. The children were excited to see the toys and were already busy eating the sweet cones that had been made. Some families were unable to make it and their gifts were delivered to their houses.
May Allah accept this from all of us and may Allah make it a reason to smile on the Day of Judgement.

As the hadith says “none of you truly believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself” (Bukhari).
